Waterproof flooring WPC: the new "it" product

Right now it’s the hottest thing on the market. Up until recently, your only choice, if you wanted a flooring that would repel water, was to purchase tile or luxury vinyl flooring (LVF). No doubt about it: Both are terrific, but WPC goes above and beyond waterproof capabilities.

We’ll explain how, but first, let’s clear up some confusion: WPC means “Wood Plastic Composite,” a super-tough core that can replace the traditional vinyl core of LVF.

The product is luxury vinyl flooring with this advanced technology core, which makes it thicker, stronger and so ultra-waterproof and moisture-resistant that you can even use it outside if you wish. Here’s an easy way to remember it: All WPC is LVF but not all luxury vinyl has the same kind of waterproof properties of WPC flooring.

[cms:companyname]] has large flooring inventories in our San Marcos and Encinitas, CA showrooms. We consider ourselves more than a flooring store, so we make sure our experts are well-trained in design and sales. We also provide services such as in-home measuring and installation, and we service San Diego, Vista, Carlsbad, Escondido, Encinitas, and Oceanside.

Benefits

  • Style. You get all the visual appeal of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and tile (LVT). All are amazingly realistic mimics of wood, stone, and tile. You get all the species, colors, designs, and patterns as you would LVF, as well as texturing features that add depth and dimension.
  • Moisture-proof.You don’t need a leak or flood to create dampness. Steamy showers, splashes, and high humidity can also do it.

Don’t automatically think you’re in the clear just because the problem is outside. We know someone who had a clogged drain pipe on her roof. Water dripped down on the outside of the window, but within hours she found the start of mold growth on the inside of the window.

  • Prevents mold growth. It only takes a few hours for it to start growing, and mold loves moisture. Not only will you have an unpleasant smell in your home, but you’ll also have respiratory problems and itchy and watery eyes.
  • Easy Maintenance. All you need to do is sweep or vacuum. For a more thorough cleaning, mop with a manufacturer-approved detergent.
  • Easy Installation. It can be placed over most subfloors, even concrete (but just make sure it’s dry). The pieces just click-and-lock or fold-and-lock.

Since the core is made of wood products, it can be affected by temperature, so be sure to ask your flooring pro about the best way to eliminate any challenges with this terrific waterproof product.
